💎 MOONSTONE LORE:
Rich in historical significance, Moonstone has been admired for over 2000 years. The Ancient Romans believed it was formed from solidified rays of moonlight, while Hindu legend says it was created from moonbeams themselves. The Ancient Greeks used Moonstone in jewelry and religious ceremonies, and it has held sacred meaning in India for centuries, traditionally given as a wedding gift and cherished as a stone for lovers. In the Orient, Moonstone has been used even longer, often revered for its spiritual significance. During the Art Nouveau period, it became a favorite among European jewelers, celebrated for both its beauty and the belief that it could reconcile estranged lovers or cure sleeplessness.
One of the most captivating features of Moonstone is its adularescence, a soft, billowy sheen of color that floats across the surface like moonlight glimmering on water. This optical effect is caused by light scattering between the layers of feldspar within the stone.
Legendary as "The Traveller's Stone," Moonstone has long been carried for protection at night and during journeys over water. It’s known to help foster new love, strengthen creativity, boost confidence, and encourage self-expression. Many believe it brings good fortune and abundance to those who wear it. Full of gentle, feminine energy, Moonstone is also associated with fertility, childbirth, nurturing, and emotional healing.
