💎 CHALCEDONY LORE:
Chalcedony is a cryptocrystalline variety of Quartz, formed from microscopic intergrowths of Quartz and Mogánite. It occurs in a beautiful range of colours and patterns, with Blue Chalcedony prized for its soft, tranquil blue hues. Chalcedony has been treasured since antiquity and was widely carved into jewellery, seals, cameos and decorative objects by the ancient Greeks and Romans. It is also associated with the Roman statesman and orator Cicero, who is traditionally said to have worn Chalcedony as a pendant.
In modern crystal lore, Chalcedony is often regarded as the ‘Speaker’s Stone’, believed to encourage thoughtful communication and help us measure our words. It is traditionally recommended for those whose work involves speaking and communication, including lawyers, counsellors, actors and public speakers. Chalcedony is also considered a nurturing stone, believed to absorb negative energy and dissipate it before it can be passed on. It is said to encourage an open mind, support meditation and invite a greater sense of peace and emotional balance.
