To order, simply select your ring size and preferred setting (either a straight or star bezel wrapping around the stone) from the drop-down menus. I will then intuitively choose a piece of natural Dendritic Opal just for you, using the specifications from your order to create your very own custom ring. Like all my work, each piece is individually made, using recycled silver, cruelty-free materials, ethically sourced gemstones and environmentally friendly methods.

Dendritic Opal (also commonly known as Merlinite) is a beautiful black and white ornamental gemstone containing areas of opaque white Opal, translucent grey, to colourless chalcedony, and picturesque black to brown dendritic inclusions of manganese oxides. The way these minerals crystallise can create fine fern-like branches, much like the structure of frost and snowflakes.
First discovered in the 19th century in Australia, Dendritic Opal is now found in various locations throughout the world, though Australian Dendritic Opal is still considered to be some of the best and most beautiful.
Dendritic Opal is considered to be a stone of duality; of black and white and of light and dark. It can attract powerful magic and greatly increase luck to its wearer. It is also thought to increase the connection to other worlds, to strengthen psychic abilities and aid in making contact with spiritual energies. It can also boost creativity and is believed to be a wonderful stone for all types of healing: physical, emotion and spiritual.
