This handcrafted ring is part of Summer's End, a small collection of hand-forged jewels, in a rainbow of colours to celebrate the final days of summer.
Inspired by one of my favourite songs, she features a teardrop Black Onyx that rests over a hidden lightning bolt, while Opalite glows softly above silver clouds, framed by crescent moons and crowned with a rising sun.
'It's alright
You were dancing through the lightning strikes
Sleepless in the Onyx night
But now the sky is Opalite'
As with all my work, she is entirely one of a kind, handcrafted from recycled precious metals and created using cruelty-free practices, ethically sourced crystals, and environmentally conscious methods.

💎 BLACK ONYX LORE:
Black Onyx has been cherished for thousands of years, both as a protective stone and a material of great artistry. In ancient times, cultures such as the Greeks and Romans carved Onyx into cameos and intaglio engravings, depicting gods, heroes, and mythic scenes. It was also shaped into beads, seals, inlays, and tiles, valued not only for its beauty but for its durability. Geologically, Onyx is a striking variety of Chalcedony, formed in the layered bands of silica-rich lava flows, with Brazil’s Rio Grande do Sul region among its most well-known sources today.
In crystal lore, Black Onyx is thought to harmonize the physical and the spiritual, grounding its wearer during periods of uncertainty. It is believed to alleviate fears and worries, encourage a calm and steady outlook, and relieve tension. Students and those in training often wear Onyx for its associations with focus, concentration, and discipline. The stone is also said to enhance stamina, self-control, and wise decision-making, while offering strength and resilience during times of stress. Beyond this, Black Onyx is seen as a talisman for happiness and good fortune, dispelling negativity from both the self and the surrounding environment.
💎 OPALITE LORE:
Opalite is often associated with the Third Eye Chakra and is considered a highly energetic stone, especially supportive during meditation and moments of quiet reflection. It is believed to enhance intuition, strengthen inner vision and encourage a deeper connection to one’s thoughts, dreams and emotional landscape.
Although Opalite carries a soft, otherworldly glow, it is a man-made glass rather than a naturally occurring gemstone. It was first created in the 20th century as a way to capture the luminous, shifting beauty of opal in a more durable and accessible form. Its gentle flashes of blue, gold and milky white have since made it beloved in both jewellery and spiritual practices.
Metaphysically, Opalite is thought to support clear and compassionate communication, helping the wearer express their truth with calm confidence. It is also associated with emotional healing, resilience and the ability to move gracefully through periods of change. Many believe it encourages determination, inner strength and a quiet optimism, making it a comforting companion during new beginnings, study, creative pursuits or business ventures.
Because Opalite is glass, it is best cared for with gentleness. Avoid harsh chemicals and extreme heat, and clean with a soft cloth and mild water to preserve its soft glow.
