💎 STONE MOUNTAIN TURQUOISE LORE:
Stone Mountain Turquoise is found in the high desert of Lyon County, Nevada, USA. This particular deposit has been in use since at least the early 1900s. It a type of Turquoise that is untreated and of very high quality, making it ideal for turquoise collectors. These pieces of Turquoise are known for their brilliant aqua and teal colours, often occurring in iron rich host rock in streams or a spider web pattern.
Boulder Turquoise or Ribbon Turquoise is simply when a stone cutter takes natural Vein Turquoise (Turquoise in its natural host rock) and cuts in the direction to create the vein going through the rock like a ribbon or splotches of turquoise in the host rock like a Boulder Opal.
Turquoise is perhaps the oldest stone in man's history, the talisman of kings, shamans, and warriors. Among the Ancient Egyptians, Persians and Chinese, Aztecs and Incas of South America, and Native North Americans, Turquoise was sacred in its adornment and for power, luck, and protection.
Wearing Turquoise is said to bring strength, protection from harm, psychic sensitivity and good fortune. It is a symbol of friendship, aids wearers while traveling and brings peace to the home.
