This handcrafted statement ring is a one of a kind piece from my recently launched Moonfire collection, inspired by the beauty and magic of the Sun, the Moon and the Stars. It features a gorgeous high-grade Moonstone that shimmers and sparkles with rainbows in the light.
The Moonstone itself measures approximately 10mm by 10mm, and the ring setting has been made with a solid sterling silver 4.5mm double ring band, a thick sterling silver hand-sawed backing, a fine silver bezel setting around the stone, a sterling silver twisted trim, and two golden crescent moons on either side of the Moonstone, carved by hand from recycled brass. The ring has then been sanded smooth, oxidised in parts for contrast, and polished to a high shine. Like all my work, it is a completely unique piece made entirely by hand, using recycled silver, cruelty-free materials, and environmentally-friendly methods!
I have created this ring in a size 7 (Australian size N 1/2), but it can also be taken to any local jeweller to be sized up or down!
Ring Face Length: 12mm approx.
Ring Face Width: 24mm approx.
💎 THE TRIPLE GODDESS LORE:
The Triple Goddess is a diety worshiped in many cultures throughout history. In ancient times, the Triple Goddess was worshiped in the forms of The Morrigan (an Irish Goddess made up of three forms), Hekate (a Greek Goddess of the Crossroads) and Brigid (a Celtic Goddess of poetry, smithery and healing).
In modern times, many Pagans and Wiccans honour the triple Goddess in the form of the Maiden, the Mother and the Crone. This Goddess is symbolised by three moons (waxing, waning and full), and represents the sacred Mother Goddess, but in all of her three aging forms.
💎 MOONSTONE LORE:
Moonstone has been used in Roman jewellery for nearly two thousand years, as the Romans believed it was born from solidified rays of the moon. It has used even longer in the Orient, and has always been a sacred stone in India with a special significance for lovers, and is a traditional wedding gift there. It was a popular choice for jewellers in the Art Nouveau period, and in Europe was believed to reconcile estranged lovers and to cure sleeplessness.
Legendary as 'The Traveller's Stone,' Moonstone is great for protection at night or on the water. It is a great stone to keep during a first love or any new relationship. It helps creativity, confidence and self expression, and helps its wearer be more successful in their day to day working activities. It is also considered to be the ultimate fertility crystal.
