This handcrafted statement ring features a stunning piece of bright-blue Sierra Nevada Turquoise that measures approximately 19mm x 13mm. It has been made with a solid sterling silver 11 gauge (2.5mm) ring band, a thick sterling silver hand-sawed backing, a fine silver bezel setting, and molten sterling silver ball accents surrounding the stone. The ring has then been sanded, oxidised in parts for contrast and polished to a high shine. Like all my work, it is a completely unique piece made entirely by hand, using recycled silver, cruelty-free materials, and environmentally-friendly methods
I have created this ring in a size 11 (Australian sizes V 1/2), but it can also be taken to any local jeweller to be sized up or down!
Total Ring Face Length: 23mm approx.
Total Ring Face Width: 19mm approx.
💎 SIERRA NEVADA TURQUOISE LORE:
Turquoise is perhaps the oldest stone in man's history, the talisman of kings, shamans, and warriors. Among the Ancient Egyptians, Persians and Chinese, Aztecs and Incas of South America, and Native North Americans, Turquoise was sacred in its adornment and for power, luck, and protection.
Wearing Turquoise is said to bring strength, protection from harm, psychic sensitivity and good fortune. It is a symbol of friendship, aids wearers while traveling and brings peace to the home.
The Sierra Nevada turquoise mine is located high up in the mountains between the Candelaria and Apache Blue mines in Nevada, USA. It is known for producing visually exquisite stones with a huge variety in colours ranging from a clear light blue to a deep, vibrant green. The matrix patterns in Sierra Nevada Turquoise are equally stunning in their variety, and can range from brown, gold and black, making them perfect for exquisite pieces of jewellery.
