This handcrafted statement pendant features three incredible stones; a stunning Rainbow Moonstone, a high-grade glittering Sunstone, and a gorgeous large piece of Bumblebee Jasper.
In creating this piece, I wanted to use stones that embody growth, abundance, protection and positivity, as well as evoking images of warm Summer days, and magic-filled, balmy nights.
The pendant setting has been made with a solid sterling silver 16 gauge (1.4mm) bail, a thick sterling silver hand-sawed backing, fine silver bezels around each stone, and solid sterling trims and accents. On the edge of the piece also sits a solid sterling Bee guardian. It then been sanded smooth, oxidised in parts for contrast, and polished to a high shine.
The pendant hangs from a 72cm adjustable organic cotton cord, so it can be worn as a choker, a long layering necklace and everything in between! Like all my work, it is a completely unique piece made entirely by hand using recycled silver, environmentally-friendly methods and cruelty-free materials!
Total Pendant Length: 62mm approx.
Total Pendant Width: 35mm approx.
💎 THE LORE OF THE BUMBLE BEE:
"Even in modern folk magic, bumblebees serve as a as a charm for health and wealth. Bee stings were said to treat the pain of rheumatism and arthritis (something modern science is investigating), and honey has been used in folk magic to treat just about any and every ailment mankind has ever been known to suffer with. The Witchcraft Museum in Boscastle retails a charm, promising health, happiness and good fortune that features three ceramic bumblebees in a blue pouch–this is a vast improvement on the old folk charm it is based on, found in Dawlish, that sadly featured three dead bumblebees in the bag. Bees have long been associated with witches and witchcraft: one Lincolnshire witch was said to have a bumblebee as her familiar animal, another witch from Scotland allegedly poisoned a child in the form of a bee, and in Nova Scotia a male witch was accused of killing a cow by sending a white bumblebee to land on it." - Ceri Norman, Bumblebee Conservation Trust.

💎 SUNSTONE LORE:
Sunstone is a member of the Feldspar family, and is named for its warm shades of gold, orange, reds and browns that sparkle like the sun. Inclusions of Goethite or Hematite refract light between the different crystal layers and produce an iridescent effect as the stone is viewed from various angles. In ancient Greece, Sunstone represented the sun god, bringing life and abundance to all fortunate enough to possess it. It was used often in the ornamentation of goblets and plates, and was believed to counteract poison and produce strength. Sunstone was also used by the Canadian Indians in rituals of the medicine wheel to show spirit guides the connection with the golden white healing light of the sun. During those ceremonies Sunstone was placed in the centre of the medicine wheel, and it has been reported that during contact with the spirit guides, the stone emitted a golden glow.
Sunstone is considered to be a gem that brings openness, benevolence, warmth, strength, mental clarity, and the willingness and ability to bestow blessings upon others. Known as a joyful stone, Sunstone also inspires the nurturing of self in order to be of service to others. It restores the enjoyment of life, good nature and provides a sense of abundance.
